What is Machine Embroidery Digitizing?

The use of embroidery has now become an integral part of our visual world as it is now in our homes, workplaces and even on the high street. This embroidery is actually three dimensional and mainly associated with the quality, thus adding better value to the designed product in both tactile and visual fields. The embroidery designs produced today are usually produced on the embroidery machines controlled by the computers.

Embroidery Digitizing Machines:

These are the specially engineered machines having an embroidery head which is multi-needle and a frame holder that is called pantograph and works by moving the embroidery subject or framed product in either of the two directions in order to sew the embroidery designs. The design is made within the field that is a specific grid with x and y-axis as horizontal or vertical values. These co-ordinates are then read by the embroidery digitizing machine, which moves the pantograph into position in order to receive the new stitch from the needle head of the machine.

The design is created with the help of digitizing software in which the artwork in interpreted in stitches. This is done so by first sampling and plotting the specified route that is taken by the needle of the embroidery digitizing machine while applying the functions. When the design is complete, it is transferred in the stitch format. When the design reaches and gets stored in the memory of the embroidery machine, the operator tells the machine about the process of sewing and its starts embroidering.

Computerized Embroidery Process By the Machine:

The embroidery digitizing procedure by machine is performed in following seven functional activities.

1. By using the proprietary software, interpret the artwork and digitize the design.

2. Save the digitized design in the stitch file specified for the embroidery machine.

3. Read the data file in the machine.

4. With the help of the operator, teach the machine about the procedure of the embroidery design.

5. Frame and then hoop the fabric that is to be embroidered.

6. Once framed, slot the design into the arms of the machine.

7. Begin the machine stitching process & run it until the design is completed and finished.

The computerized embroidery machine is automatic unlike the conventional sewing machine as it has a complex tension mechanism, which ensures the productivity of the machine and the high-quality value of the embroidery. A well-maintained embroidery digitizing machine that uses better quality stitching and threads along with the professionally digitized design can efficiently complete the design independently without even stopping or needing the intervention of the operator. Understanding and controlling the variables is the basic key to a high-quality embroidery production and is an aspect where the importance of the appropriate digitizing software is not over-emphasized. This procedure is quite complex but the results can be satisfactory if you add better design interpretation and significant value.
